[It's funny, I meant to post this here last night but got confused in the head  and posted it on a different thread.  :headbatting:]

Ok so I couldn't wait and installed it on the computer here at work. Really liking it so far :) ... Some of the images produced are BEAUtiful.

The only issue I had so far was when I tried to create a video, the program got stuck. It doesn't render, and then exits with an error message I couldn't understand (PC at work is in Portuguese :P) but your program told me it wasn't able to write to file and I should check permissions or something. But this may be specific to this PC though, I'll try again at home.

And of course it would be really nice if one could navigate in render mode :D ...

I'd be so proud of myself if I had created a program like this, so congrats! I envy you :)

Very nice yv3! congrats! and thanks for including my formulas :)

I will explore it a bit more later today... maybe I can borrow some ideas for my own program  ;D

@JodyVL: [I made two post with intent] Try it, if you are crazy you will like it :). The Setup Package is just a WinRAR-Archive, thats why write permissions are not set properly on vista and seven (even if there is an option in WinRAR to prevent the problem it seem not to work). Check the Properties of the yFract-Folder and grant write permission to user-group. If it still does not work you probably have not installed "Microsoft Visual C++ 2010  Redistributable Package" (http://yv3.bplaced.net/files/vcredist_x86.exe).

You can increase the text mode resolution to get more detail in explore mode. But its limited because the letters get more and more smaller and you can't use the user interface anymore. But this is something i will not miss, i like that text mode thingy :)
There is nothing to envy, sometimes i wish i never started this application, it was much time and strength consuming. Now i finally feel like i would have reached a big milestone, finally i begin to concentrate on new formulas instead of extending the functionality all the time, want to make a developing break, maybe the next step will be a text mode multiplayer game based on the same engine ;) But f**ck it, its summer, i have to train my muscles again, vacation time comes :) Why not examine the nature and gain new insperations on how to simulate the world ;)

@Kali:I rendered a movie from one of your formula today, it took over 7 hours to render, HD res with antialiasing, about 5 minutes, will upload it soon :) Your Formula that i called "Julia Variation Kaliverse" is my current favourite one! Feel free to try it out in my tool.
If i would write this tool as classical windows application with standard controls (i wrote aprox. 200 of them at my office job) it would be much more user friendly, but this was not my intention, i wanted to create something new with a specific style and mood. Its hard to extend the tool, i have written the user interface completely from srcatch (rendering every character on screen, enable edit fields, cursor blinking, mouse emulation for instance). So don't be shocked :)

One hint regarding the zooming: If you want to use constant zoom speed (exponential zoom) you are not allowed to move in a transition, you can still rotate, modify, stretch etc. Zooming and moving also works but it looks jerky at deeper zooms in a single transition (animation between two waypoints) because it gets faster and faster the more it zooms in (http://www.fractalforums.com/help-and-support/problem-with-zooming-transform-one-view-rect-to-another/). Im bad at math and it seems that you need to have some math knowledge to solve this problem.
Maybe i will solve this "problem" one day, the video functions are the newest one, im not perfectly happy with them but they serve the purpose to better understand how my modifiers affect on the formula...
