Title: Mandelbulber 1.03: An observation
Post by: mcc on June 11, 2011, 10:43:00 PM
Hi,

Using mandelbulber 1.03 on Linux:

when adding an additional light to a scene it does not
make any difference whether the intensity of the light
is set to 0.001, 0.1 or to 1 - the light is too brigth in
any case.

If interested I will post the presets for that here.

Best regards,
mcc

the range  you seem to use might be too narrow. don't hesitate to try an intensity of 1 e-12 or lower, when you are close to fractal surface.

I completely agree with this. Please remember that light intensity is inversely proportional to the distance. So that's why it is needed to reduce (or increase) light power dramatically.

Hi,

Ooohhh, uuuuhhh, sorry if I had drained that much energy from the mandelbulber central reactor .... ;)

I thought of light energy as used with Blender ... but I'd have never thought of anything like 1 e-12 Watts! :))))))

That explains it! Thanks a lot!
