On page 146, he writes that Predco is a company that was formed by Doyne Farmer and Norm Packard who joined with other people who chose to be entrepeneurs rather than pursue post-docs. The company attempts to predict the markets based on non-linear dynamics. I suppose "non-linear" dynamics might not imply that fractal equations are used necessarily, but close enough. The author points out that the continued profitability of the company implies that they hit pay dirt. Predco is very tight lipped about their methods.
Anyone know more about this company?
