My last and least submission.
This is a mixed scene. The main mesh (the ruined rocks) is from Xenodream.
The almost invisible cone of rocks (serrounding the main mash) is modelled.
The souls flocking into the wind are from an Apophysis map,
Dante and Virgilio are hand made with Photoshop.

Of course this is an image inspired by Dante's Inferno (c.V, the luxurious round, where he met Paolo and Francesca).
This is the original version:

Io venni in loco d'ogne luce muto,
che mugghia come fa mar per tempesta,
se da contrari venti è combattuto.

La bufera infernal, che mai non resta,
mena li spirti con la sua rapina;
voltando e percotendo li molesta.

Translated it shoud sound as:

I arrived in a place that's mute of every lights
that's roaring as a tempest sea does,
if it is beated by different winds.

The hell's storm, that never ends
pulls the souls with its raging fury
rolling and squashing it hurts them
