Title: Hello from Italy
Post by: LAV on April 06, 2011, 07:58:27 PM
Happy to be here.
I love fractals since C64 time (even if I had to wait Amiga times to have a fractal renderer whose speed was human - just a few hours to dig into mandelbrot :) )
In the recent times I choosed to mix straight 3d programs with fractals, using the embedded recursive formulas (in material layers) as the imported mesh, too, obtained with other software (Knotplot, Xenodream, Fractal Imaginator and so on).
I like Apophysis, too, but I prefer to play with 'recursions' in 3D.
Here I found your wonderful Mandelbulb3d, and another field suddenly opens to me.
My thanks for your efforts.

Good to meet you. I used to use Tierazon fractals as height maps in Bryce's symmetrical lattice.  I'll probably do it again one day but for now, I'm hooked on Mandelbulb3D.  If you explore my galleries, you'll see some of my work.  Looking forward to seeing some of yours.   :howdy:

Welcome LAV,

You must be a very patient person. I discovered fractals when  i was using a 386, but lost interest because it took too much time ;D Your first post in the Gallery looks very promising. Hope to see some more!

;D I remember (when I was young) the ray tracing rendering in Amiga 68k... You made the meshes and the scene in a couple of hours, then you pressed F9 to start the rendering, then you got your beach bag, then you phoned to your girl, got the train, had some baths for the whole day... and when you came back to your desk... the render was almost half completed :)
It was an eroic time...

:) I agree but I see we aim a little higher today...
Just in time... where are your images, here? I'm a newbie in the forum and I can't find them.

My galleries address is below my posts.  At least I think you can get to them that way - if not I'll see what I can do.
