Title: Question on rendering fractal.
Post by: exter on March 26, 2011, 03:03:00 PM
Hello all,

I have several interesting fractal formula. I would like to render an animation but i found a problem.
Here is an example of my problem :

http://img708.imageshack.us/i/structure2.jpg/ (http://img708.imageshack.us/i/structure2.jpg/)    standard Image
http://img23.imageshack.us/i/structure1.jpg/ (http://img23.imageshack.us/i/structure1.jpg/)      ZOOM 1
http://img818.imageshack.us/i/structure3.jpg/ (http://img818.imageshack.us/i/structure3.jpg/)  ZOOM 2

When i zoomed or when i travel near the fractal, texture and fractal "changed" (as you can see, blue parts appears).
Can someone explain me why ? Or how to avoid this ?

thanx
philippe

That's called clipping. The object is cut because the camera is "inside" the object.

If you navigate in the main window, you should try to use the 3D navigator
If you are already using the 3D navigator, try to uncheck the "Fixed zoom and steps" box.

Hope this helps

"The object is cut because the camera is "inside" the object "

Ok i was thinking about this but was not sure.
I will try to use the navigate box.

Thanx very much for your help.
