Title: Flarium?
Post by: harrilldon on March 24, 2011, 02:30:55 PM
I do a lot of art using PovRay.  I used Flarium when I wanted an interesting fractal to use as a height field in PovRay.  I loved it because the colors were easily controled.  I went another direction and now I cannot come back to it.  I lost the program due to scrubbing a disk and now have a Sony VAIO Windows 7 which is incompatible with it.
I wonder if anyone could suggest another similar fractal program or any other solution because I am ready to get back into fractals again.
Thanks, harrilldon

Fractal Explorer can produce 3d fractals (that's with a simple extrusione procedure, as you can do manually, in any 3d program, via elevation-displacing map).
In FE you can get a mesh and export it to your preferred 3d package.
Hope it helps you.
