Any chance to post the software here, so we could explore this new universe too... :dink: Title: Re: Buddhabrot - Classical serie Post by: ker2x on March 29, 2011, 08:22:15 AM here is the source code : https://github.com/emmmile/buddha
Compile without problem on linux, supposed to compile on windows (use Qt and Boost) but i couldn't compile it on my windows box :'( So no windows binary available for windows, sorry Title: Re: Buddhabrot - Classical serie Post by: Fractal Ken on March 30, 2011, 11:35:25 PM Great pics, ker2x! I read the Wikipedia article (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buddhabrot) on the Buddhabrot. The technique is interesting: applying an IFS-like coloring method to an escape-time fractal. Have you tried the technique on fractals other than the Mandelbrot set?

Have you tried the technique on fractals other than the Mandelbrot set? yes, on some old software i wrote a long time ago. it works :) see some of the pics here : http://www.keru.org/album-1544187.html Title: Re: Buddhabrot - Classical serie Post by: ker2x on March 31, 2011, 12:34:39 AM i finally managed to make it compile on windows \o/
please see here to download a working binary : http://www.fractalforums.com/announcements-and-news/buddhaplusplus-first-windows-version-o/ Title: Re: Buddhabrot - Classical serie Post by: Fractal Ken on March 31, 2011, 12:47:53 AM see some of the pics here : http://www.keru.org/album-1544187.html Nice! I like the ethereal look of your images. Title: Re: Buddhabrot - Classical serie Post by: cKleinhuis on March 31, 2011, 01:25:34 AM Great pics, ker2x! Have you tried the technique on fractals other than the Mandelbrot set? i tried this a long time ago, and it works for every fractal escape time fractal, and hybrid formulas make as well interesting results Title: Re: Buddhabrot - Classical serie Post by: Fractal Ken on March 31, 2011, 01:37:18 AM i tried this a long time ago, and it works for every fractal escape time fractal, and hybrid formulas make as well interesting results Cool. Coding the Buddhabrot technique might be a fun project for me. Title: Re: Buddhabrot - Classical serie Post by: cKleinhuis on March 31, 2011, 01:48:52 AM especially if you have many formulas ready to use, i think someone also tried to apply this technique to the mandelbulb, or triplex formulas, this would sound like a task for massive gpu rendering, but also a plain 2d plotting of the result would be great to see ;) just to keep things going on ;) ;) ;) :D ;) ;) ;) |
