Title: CommDlg Exception?
Post by: kon16ov on March 09, 2011, 04:59:40 PM
Howdy,

I'm trying to discern if this is an WINE problem or something within the program, itself.  Here's what happened:
I was assembling an animation in v1.691, I believe, and that's when I managed to toast my system.  Upon rebuilding and getting everything happy, again, the mount points have changed, slightly, but enough that when rendering the animation in v1.694, it freaks out about the path.  No worries, since changing the path is quite simple.  Well, it should be, but when I try to update the path -- clicking "Open" when selecting the directory, it throws an exception.  I've attached the screen capture.  Another odd thing is that this last time when I went to reproduce the error to do a screen cap, it didn't load any of the keyframes. In looking in the .m3a file, all the jibberish leads me to believe that it still has all the keyframes referenced...  Maybe it just got tired of me loading the same file, repeatedly...   ;D

Anyway -- is this something that can be reproduced in Win32 or is it a Wine issue?

- Phil

hi,
comdlg sounds like a win or wine issue, but if you send me the m3a file i could try to verify if it is ok or not.

Jesse -- I'm sure it's a Wine thing.  I updated to the very latest dev/beta fork (1.3.15) and it seems to be fixed.  It was addressed in the 1.4.14 release:   comdlg32: Add missing break (Coverity)...somehow missed it.   I figured that was the case, but wanted to be sure that it was localized to Wine and then figure out what was broken.

So, note to linux users: use the latest dev release; even the stable release has this problem.
