Title: Mandelbox with scale=1.04 and minScale=0 Post by: trafassel on March 08, 2011, 10:55:59 PM This thread is just for one variant of Tglad's original Mandelbox, developed a year ago. In this variant I use
scale=1.04 and minScale=0. Most of the scenes are rendered with 370 iterations. The main Box is in the space (-200,-200,-200) to (200,200,200). Most of the pictures are generated with Gestaltlupe (see http://www.boitels.de/Gestaltlupe/). The orignal scene files can be found (some time after presentation here) at: https://github.com/trafassel/Gestaltlupe/tree/master/settings/Public/Unsorted Title: Re: Mandelbox with scale=1.04 and minScale=0 Post by: trafassel on March 08, 2011, 10:57:27 PM The box colosseum
Title: Re: Mandelbox with scale=1.04 and minScale=0 Post by: trafassel on March 08, 2011, 11:14:10 PM I call the loop in the area around the two blue dots "Box Attractor".
A Box Attractor is a good place to start investigation in all variants of the Mandelbox. Title: Re: Mandelbox with scale=1.04 and minScale=0 Post by: trafassel on March 08, 2011, 11:20:35 PM Strange creatures lives here.
Title: Re: Mandelbox with scale=1.04 and minScale=0 Post by: trafassel on March 08, 2011, 11:23:27 PM And here the net is build by a huge amount of box attractors.
Title: Re: Mandelbox with scale=1.04 and minScale=0 Post by: kon16ov on March 09, 2011, 04:26:55 AM I particularly enjoyed the last one -- and the face that appears in the middle, towards the top, between the two 'caverns.' Kind of looks like mid-14th century depictions of northern-European kings.
So, the 'box can do primitive cave drawings...is there anything it can't do? :D Title: Re: Mandelbox with scale=1.04 and minScale=0 Post by: KRAFTWERK on March 09, 2011, 01:05:36 PM Nice images Trafassel!
Yes Kon16ov I see the King in the last one, he is also the body of a butterfly... The butterfly effect maybe. vanish when zooming closer ... :( Title: Re: Mandelbox with scale=1.04 and minScale=0 Post by: trafassel on March 09, 2011, 09:57:19 PM A zoom into the attractor net. The net flows around a spiral.
I will compute a zoom into the two pictures of the kings at the weekend. Title: Re: Mandelbox with scale=1.04 and minScale=0 Post by: trafassel on March 15, 2011, 10:58:04 PM King I
Title: Re: Mandelbox with scale=1.04 and minScale=0 Post by: trafassel on March 17, 2011, 06:45:01 PM And here is a scene with 170 and 570 iterations. It is interesting to find a closed bridge which opens at higher iterations.
(Sorry, scale is a little bit smaller than 1.04, but I don't want to start a new thread). Title: Re: Mandelbox with scale=1.04 and minScale=0 Post by: trafassel on March 17, 2011, 08:04:31 PM Perhaps both parts of the bridge does not fit.
Title: Re: Mandelbox with scale=1.04 and minScale=0 Post by: trafassel on April 25, 2011, 11:50:23 AM And here a typical structure at the border of the attractor. Done with Mandelbulber.
