Interestingly, I don't see any smaller repetitions of the spiral; only the other shapes.

Hi Paul,
The spiral, the hyperbolic tiling, and the flower-like pattern, are the result of a string of transformations applied to the Mobius-based IFS that is at the heart of the image.
