Title: Mandelbulb3D
Post by: skyzyk on February 23, 2011, 08:22:38 PM
I was wondering if there was a "Pause" button on the drawing boards for Mandelbulb3D. When I run all 4 cores some tasks, like opening Photoshop, takes a long time. Whereas with a pause button it would minimally affect both programs. Some people I speak to, more on the novice side, seem to want an auto-save function. Is that possible?
Thanks for your time all.

This might help:

All programs are designed to grab all the CPU power that's available. But you can allocate how many CORES you want to dedicate to a particular application.

If your working with Mandelbulb3D and you want to allocate only 2 cores to another program:

1. right click on your task bar, Start Task Manager
2. goto Processes tab
3. right click on  Mandelbulb3D.exe *32
4. click on Set Affinity
5. uncheck 2 of the cores.

cheers!

You can also go to the "intern" tab in reduce threadcount and/or reduce thread priority in M3D

tomot...
I'm new and saw your post.
I tried using affinity/core setting on ChaosPro which I use
and saw it's using all 8 "CPUs".
Thanx for the tip!

Later...KR

don't necropost tx

Why not?

As long as there is something being added to a discussion, I never saw any harm in it and have yet to hear a single good reason to disallow it from anybody who runs a forum!

If you don't want "necroposting" then why keep all these old threads?  Let's just delete all threads over 90 days old!

...

Yes.

That was sarcasm.

Posting in old threads is not encouraged unless you are adding something or have a question pertinent to an old discussion, but it is by no means a bad thing or something to rule against.

Aw crap, Luca - I never ran into a literal interpretation of necro post before   :'(

My condolences.

Feel free to lock this and any of his old threads you feel should remain untouched.
