Title: The Fractal Explorer Compiler Does Not Work With Windows 7? Post by: fractalatha on February 06, 2011, 12:22:32 AM When I try to compile a ".frs" file in Windows 7, I get the following response:
Unsupported 16-Bit Application The program or feature "c:\Program Files (x86)\fractal explorer\make.pif" cannot start or run due to incompatibility with 64-bit versions of Windows. Please contact the software vendor to ask if a 64-bit Windows compatible version is available. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you very much! fractalsoulis Title: Re: The Fractal Explorer Compiler Does Not Work With Windows 7? Post by: fractalatha on February 26, 2011, 06:35:10 AM I have just discovered the program XP Mode that will open a window in Windows 7 and Voila! We are in Windows XP! The Fractal Explorer compiler will work in the XP Mode. No problem. Just make sure that you place the entire Fractal Explorer directory in "C:\Program Files\". This directory "Program Files" opens up with the XP MODE and disappears when the XP Mode is gone. It is not the same as the directory "Program Files", which is for the 32-bit Windows 7. XP Mode is free and works only with Windows 7 professional and ultimate. Thank you guys! fractalsoulis |
