Title: Long Julian render time
Post by: Lee Oliver on January 13, 2011, 01:50:18 PM
Why do julian fractals take so much longer to render in MB3D?  Especially the magnifications, a 1600 by 1200 pixel picture can take hours on my computer.

Is there a technical reason as to why they take so long?

A guess:
Do you have julia seeds for x and y of zero?
If so, try to increase them a bit like 0.000001 because on some formulas there might be divisions by zero.
On some CPUs this doesnt change rendering time, on some it slows it down very much.

Actually y and z are equal to zero, but I will try what you have suggested.

Thanks a lot! :)
