Title: Simplexity

This is a closeup rotating / rotated mandelbox vid.  The different axes were rotated in a staggered sequence, resulting in a kaleidoscopic and dreamy vision, rich in different movements, morphs, and transformations.  The animation was rendered in Mandelbulb 3D (Thanks, Jesse!) and compiled in Virtualdub.  Also, thanks to reallybigname for your help with the anti-aliasing, which greatly improved the quality of the end product.

Enjoy!

That's pretty neat, Rev! I guess this must be how you feel when you're on LSD ;-) Any plans on trying this with a negatively scaled Mandelbox?

I never really have any plan, actually.  LOL.  However, that IS a good idea.

Well, I don't know if that's a good simulation of LSD.  But, it might be really cool to watch on LSD!  :nerd:

I love rotations like that - awesome, Rev!  Glad I could be of service - making the world a smoother place, day by day.
Okay, now do it in 1080p. lol

Okay, you got me thinking.  I'm working one up with a negative scale box now.  It's a bit shorter, and I have the different axes rotating at different speeds.  Oddly, the morphs are more "contained", so instead of the explosion of activity, it's more about motion from one formation to the next.  I'll post it when it's done (should be another day or two).

This is pretty much the same thing, but with a negatively scaled amazing box.  The axes of rotation are also set to rotate half as fast as the next, so Z is half the rotational speed of Y, which is half the rotational speed of X.  The result is really different than with the positively scaled box, but in a way that,  IMO, is more contained and controlled.  Enjoy.

This thing is a masterpiece. The Mandelbox looks *alive*! :) Nice work!

I like it! It's more organic then the positive mandelbox. And, as you may know by now, I  like organic  :dink:

So beautiful!  I want to make sweet love to it.  The music goes nicely with it too, although you might want to try some Al Green or Isaac Hayes next time. LOL!   O0

Both of these are great, but I think this last one is the most mesmerizing/beautiful.  The other one is really nice too, but it looks like its this giant structure interchanging things back and forth.  Whereas the new one looks about the size of a big wall in front of you, and its changing into so many things you can't keep track.  Basically, it feels closer.  BTW, this would be a really really awesome 3D render because of the shallow depth.
