Title: Fractal-like pattern formed by hot air balloons
Post by: aluminumstudios on November 30, 2010, 03:43:38 AM
I was at the Saga International Balloon Fiesta a few weeks ago in Saga, Japan when I looked up and took this photo of balloons in the sky above me.

Their arrangement was EXTREMELY fractal-like.  It almost looks like it is straight from the Mandelbrot set.

I know this was a chance arrangement which only lasted for a few moments and would have not looked like a fractal from any other vantage-point, but nonetheless the resemblance to a fractal is uncanny.
