Title: Old fractal fan Post by: fractalmind on November 21, 2010, 06:39:41 PM Hi
I have studied fractals as a hobby since 1985 when I read an article about Mandelbrot set from Scientific American. I am not a professional programmer but I have done some fractal programming in various dialects of basic (Gfa basic for Atari ST and more recently Powerbasic for Windows). Programming is great fun! My old Atari ST version (1989) available here http://www.ntrautanen.fi/marko/arkisto.atari.org/arkisto/softat/fractalus.zip More recent version for Windows is available here: http://www.freewarefiles.com/Fractalus_program_62198.html My website: http://personal.inet.fi/koti/fractalus/ Source-code of older version is available in Powerbasic web site: http://www.powerbasic.com/support/downloads/files/frac403.zip Current version still contains a lot of dead code and needs a lot tidying up and I am not willing to release current source yet - at least not until I have fixed some small bugs here and there. This freeware program is very much work in progress. Helpfile is not yet up to date and there are some bugs here and there but I'm quite happy with the result athough the graphical user interface might be could be a lot nicer. Maybe someday...
