Title: Space Station flyover

This video utilizes the new "rect. Lens" feature with a FOV of 65. The 1700 frames were calculated in 1280x720 in approx 22hours on a corei7. Hard shadows were particularly quick to calculate ;)

Very smooth and inspiring vid bib!  :D
The new rectilinear lens function works extremely well
in this.
Love the wee bit of pure 'chaos' at the end!!  :dink:

That is a very good one bib, the rectilinear lense is way cooler, i think.

Just for information because i did not mentioned it in the description:  you can fix the hard shadows with
the light sources on the object by choosing "Lightangles relative to object", what makes some sense... but
maybe the hard shadows can't be noticed very well when fixed.
And the light can change much during the flight dependend on the direction, that could be a problem too.
(Ok, just a thought)

Did you changed the DEstop value in the end or just one of possible "out of precision" endings  :)

No I just decreased the number of iterations.

One of my all time favorites so far!  You've inspired me a lot with these.  Thanks!  (and jesse of course)

Bib is inspiration for all of us^^

This one is also one of my favorites. Incredible (and very evocative) sci-fi structure, great use of fog, super-smooth camera movements and this new rect. lens option adds a lot of craziness. My 3rd video will use this feature for sure :D

Wow, I really need a core i7 at home. Impressive !!! My wife has a i5, it would at least triple the rendering speed for me but sadly I'm banned from her computer haha.

Got to love version 1.66 ! :D

I used this "Lightangles relative to object" thing on one of my latest test animation and while it looks more realistic, you're right Jesse, it's sometime frustrating to use because some great zooming spots may stay in the shadow. However I think it's pretty cool to have choice between both options, depending on what you want to achieve.
