Title: Max Iterations in UF5.04
Post by: kon16ov on November 10, 2010, 05:08:55 PM
Good morning,

This may be one of "those" questions, but what is the theoretical maximum iterations allowable in UF5?  Further, how does one enter it without it doing a sort of self-policing thing (probably its own sanity check)?

For example, I'm looking in a spot that *should* have lots of detail, but is far enough in that in order to bring out the detail, I need to keep ramping up the iterations and precision.  Also, if you know a better way and want to chastise me for being a dork and overcomplicating things, that's OK, too.  Just be nice about it, please. :)

I'm currently at 2,130,822,201 iterations.  Personally, I'd like to see what happens around 5B...  That said, in order to get it this high, I had to kind of convince it that it was making small steps -- meaning, I would, next, increase 2,130,822,201 to 2,139,822,201 so that I could up it to 2,140,822,201.  It seems to be allowing me to do this, but I was wondering (hoping!) there was an easier way.

In searching the online help, it wasn't really helpful about that and finding anything useful on the web involves weeding through torrents and such that just aren't anywhere near helpful.

Any help and/or advice would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Phil

you have automatic iteration adjustment, and if you reach floating point limit, you can increase floating point resolution ;)
more i dont know
