Title: 3D cut through a 4D Menger hypersponge
Post by: Mircode on November 03, 2010, 02:50:48 PM
This is a 3D cut through a 4D Menger Hypersponge. The cut goes through <0,0,0,0> with a normal of <1,1,1,1>. It was done in POVRay without any attention to beauty so far :P

As I now see in "Related topics", its been done before. Of course. I already looked for it, did not find it and now that mine is finished it was there all along. But there are no pictures anymore. :P

Here's my next picture. If the hypercube's extent is from <-1,-1,-1,-1> to <1,1,1,1>, this is a cut through <0.25,0.25,0.25,0.25> with normal <1,1,1,1>.

Also, I put a lot attention to the render quality and would be pleased to hear some advice how to make it even more beautiful :P

Yes, but it is ugly, it is povray, it took ages to render and I did some post-editing.
