There are three different shapes you can cut in half in Mandelbulb 3D to get a mandelbrot set to zoom into, the mandelbulb (power 2), the tricorn, and the quaternion. The bulb gives a kind of terrain feel, the tricorn gives long smooth "sticks", and the quaternion gives a kind of shredded leafy look. I've been playing with all three pretty much nonstop since I learned how to do this from bib. :D The Rev |
