Title: New CUDA developer Post by: chacharles on October 22, 2010, 10:32:08 AM Hi every one
To introduce myself I'm a French developer I've started with mandelbrot about 20 years ago in Turbo Pascal At this time, a 320x200 2D image take me hours to compute. Mandelbrot as always been my "hello world" program in each language I've learned. With CUDA, I found a great new tool to build a raytracing engine of Quaternion Julia And surprise ! It work in real time ( with not so ugly parameters ) All link, videos, code, downloadable, explanation etc ... are HERE (http://goo.gl/Zynl) I'll try to post in each related forum to answer and ask questions ;D I'm glad to see that a such site exist Below, screenshots I've juste made: It's not a professionnal raytracer, but it's my own. I had, and continue to have great fun building this 4D engine :D (http://s2.noelshack.com/uploads/images/3556747369692_kanuliaf1.jpg) (http://s2.noelshack.com/upload/3556747369692_kanuliaf1.jpg) (http://s2.noelshack.com/uploads/images/3649021411365_kanulia_20101021_23192979.jpg) (http://s2.noelshack.com/upload/3649021411365_kanulia_20101021_23192979.jpg) (http://s2.noelshack.com/uploads/images/6651175065975_kanulia_20101022_00494280.jpg) (http://s2.noelshack.com/upload/6651175065975_kanulia_20101022_00494280.jpg) (http://s2.noelshack.com/uploads/images/7665244438896_kanulia_20101022_01550142.jpg) (http://s2.noelshack.com/upload/7665244438896_kanulia_20101022_01550142.jpg) (http://s2.noelshack.com/uploads/images/13692484404621_kanulia_20101021_23313521.jpg) (http://s2.noelshack.com/upload/13692484404621_kanulia_20101021_23313521.jpg) Title: Re: New CUDA developer Post by: jwm-art on October 22, 2010, 01:32:45 PM Welcome, and nice renders.
Title: Re: New CUDA developer Post by: cKleinhuis on October 22, 2010, 03:05:14 PM hello and welcome to the forums, now that you have a nice quaternion renderer, it is just a few lines of code to make it a mandelbox and mandelbulb renderer,
i love to see more realtime applications, please keep us updated for new versions with new formulas :D Title: Re: New CUDA developer Post by: Don Whitaker on October 22, 2010, 06:38:13 PM Welcome. Love the pics and the app! If that is your 'Hello World' then I can't wait to see what you come up once you get warmed up. :fiery:
Title: Re: New CUDA developer Post by: chacharles on October 23, 2010, 04:49:58 PM thanks all
That's mandelbox that let me now about this forum I've tried Mandelbox http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vm_0cYrdpeQ but I don't even know if what I see is correct And I still have many work to do on the raytracer I wish to severly warm up :evil1: but I need time, definitively :sad1: Title: Re: New CUDA developer Post by: RogerDahl on April 25, 2011, 06:59:10 AM Hi there,
Just wanted to let you know that Kanulia 1.4.2 worked great on my machine. Windows 7 64 bit with GTX 570. Awesome program! This quote from you could have been my own :) Mandelbrot as always been my "hello world" program in each language I've learned. Are you, ME ? :o I'm french mandelbrot is my "hello world" program in each langage i learn (and i learn a lot of them) i'm doing openCL and trying cuda from time to time. If you're not me (), are you a single woman so i can marry you tomorrow ? :embarrass: Title: Re: New CUDA developer Post by: tomot on May 06, 2011, 10:35:01 PM I will have to wait, for a fix. :sad1: does not work on a win7, quad core, PhysX gpu enabled NVIDIA video card.
Title: Re: New CUDA developer Post by: chacharles on May 19, 2011, 01:06:00 PM If you're not me (), are you a single woman so i can marry you tomorrow ? :embarrass: Yes of course I'm a woman, and my real/imaginary name is Julia. In fact  RogerDahl you are one of the chosen which can get this application to work properly I start to think this is a GPU compatibility issue. The error message almost every one get is just a non-sense for me. I don't get it. I ran into many many CUDA bug with this ray tracer. Some are solved by Drivers and/or CUDA toolkit upgrade But this one still resist, and i quit 6 month ago. I should try again to see if ther is a solution. |
