Title: Suggestions for the software Post by: marcusbacus on October 08, 2010, 06:52:51 PM Where could I post a simple suggestion for the software? It's not a huge programming issue or nothing too complicated. It's quite simple actually (I guess): To add some sort of "compass" in the 3d window (or in the main window too), just to guide us with the navigations. I find it confusing to sometimes move a control thinking it is going in the let's say the Z direction when it's not... an example of this: with the SuperCubeScale3Start parameter open, I was trying the "cutting" options to see what they do. If I pick up the X cutting for example, I was expecting it to be cut somewhere along a horizontal line, but it's not (it's cutting in the vertical axis!), which means that or the image is rotated or the camera isn't in a "zero" position - which for a "starting" image, it would be assumed I suppose. It can get a little confusing, IMHO. And we can't simply detect what's the image position just by looking at the XYZ coordinates, not everyone can "read" in 3D that easily...
Title: Re: Suggestions for the software Post by: Jesse on October 08, 2010, 08:22:35 PM Hi, the right place for this question would be: + Fractal Software | |-+ 3D Fractal Generation | | |-+ Mandelbulb Software | | | |-+ Mandelbulb 3d A compass would be helpful sometimes, i agree. Would be easier to make in OpenGL or so though. But the cutting planes and the start parameters are ok, the x axis is horizontal and a cut at x=0 leads to a plane from front to back and top to bottom, thats like it should. The y axis is vertical, so a cut at y=0 would lead to a plane from left to right and front to back. |
