I've recently uploaded a number of JPG images to my gallery, and I've noticed that some (not all) lose a great deal of fidelity between my C:\ drive and My Gallery.  They are distorted like low res JPGs with alot of pixelation (I can see a kind of "tiling" effect in areas with more uniform color.

Any idea what the problem could be?

This is weirder than I first thought.  I uploaded the same images to Facebook, with the same loss of quality.  It's clearly me, or my ISP.  I have IE7, if that means anything.  Not every image looks bad, just some I've uploaded lately.

I downloaded an image from both Facebook and my gallery here to compare with what I have on my C-drive.  There's definitely a huge loss of quality.  This is no good.  Is there any way that an ISP could screw up images in upload?  I have a sprint aircard, if that means anything to anyone.  Any help would be appreciated.  :(

Here's an example.  There is pronounced pixelation and loss of fidelity, as if I saved the JPEG at the lowest resolution possible.  However, I saved all of my images at the highest quality possible.

You should find that the full-size versions here are exactly the same as the one you uploaded but whenever they are displayed at another size here they will have been resized and re-jpged probably at lower quality than you would use.
As to Facebook, no matter what size you upload your images, they are processed by the fb server to particular (pixel) size constraints and then jpged at a particular quality - again considerably more highly compressed than you would tend to do yourself (they may even be processed such that the final image used is always under a particular filesize but I'm not certain about that).
