(Click the image to see a larger version in my PBase gallery) A fractal kaleidoscope based on a 3D Julia set fractal rendered in FractalWorks. Here is the info for the source plot: Fractal type: julia Plot size (w,h): 1500, 1500 Maximum iterations: 51000 Center Point (real, imaginary): -1.749850333, 2.2170100063e-05 i Plot Width (real): 1.1E-09 Julia origin (real, imaginary): -1.749850314490433, 2.215725314307762E-05 i Source mandelbrot width: 2.18E-11 Title: Re: 3D Kaleidoscope Post by: Sockratease on August 28, 2010, 02:16:10 AM Beautiful!
Is that post-work, or a feature I never noticed in your program? And... I may as well ask; Are you going to train FractalWorks to do Mandelboxes and/or Bulbs? I'd love to try my hand at MandelBulbs. I don't get much chance to do fractal programming lately however. I formed a software development startup last year with a couple of others, and that consumes a lot of time. Actually, I was referring to the kaleidoscop-ing-ness ness. I do that with both post work and the built in bit of ChaosPro - but never noticed it in FractalWorks. I'll have to make sure I have the latest version... Title: Re: 3D Kaleidoscope Post by: Duncan C on August 28, 2010, 03:03:29 PM The kaleidoscope effect was done in Photoshop. I should have said that.

Still a good image O0 For real fun with such stuff, plug a source fractal image into Mutatorkammer! I still do that for making textures for 3D Models... (true Kaleidoscope, my opinion) :) I have also createsd them with Pixlr. |
