Title: Generation of Fractals using the Droste Effect
Post by: G on August 10, 2010, 04:58:51 PM
Hello,

I thought this would be interesting. It's a description of the mathematics / transform behind the droste effect, which is present in a work of M.C. Escher and was analyzed by a professor at Leiden University. The mathematics does not really involve any complicated beyond manipulations in the complex plane.

If you go to http://hulk03.princeton.edu:8080/WebMedia/lectures/ and search for "droste effect", you can access a lecture by the professor mentioned in the article on the algorithm. It's a bit long, but the visuals from the presentation make it interesting and much clearer.
