Title: GIGANTIC HADRON COLLIDER Post by: KRAFTWERK on August 02, 2010, 09:33:37 AM 3 weeks of rendering, a bit sad youtube has a bit crappy quality, I will try Vimeo too later.
HD quality, I hope you think it was worth the waiting ;) Enjoy: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3FoupqgbDkk Title: Re: GIGANTIC HADRON COLLIDER Post by: Thunderwave on August 02, 2010, 09:41:29 AM Great!

Title: Re: GIGANTIC HADRON COLLIDER Post by: Rathinagiri on August 02, 2010, 03:52:57 PM It is a nice journey through The Box!
Great work. Congrats man! Title: Re: GIGANTIC HADRON COLLIDER Post by: kram1032 on August 02, 2010, 04:38:22 PM This was worth every single computational instruction of rendertime :D Really great :D
Title: Re: GIGANTIC HADRON COLLIDER Post by: teamfresh on August 02, 2010, 08:19:22 PM yes!! it was well worth the wait...
Title: Re: GIGANTIC HADRON COLLIDER Post by: Jesse on August 02, 2010, 08:25:16 PM Spectacular video, enjoing it much! :D
And what a great box you found, awesome! Title: Re: GIGANTIC HADRON COLLIDER Post by: KRAFTWERK on August 03, 2010, 08:50:02 AM :D
Thank you Rathinagiri, kram, teamfresh!!! Glad you like it! O0 And Jesse! Took a long time to render, but it was because I wanted the far background visible even in the close passings, that is really time consuming @ 1280 x 720. I love the program, got one wish on DA about smoother camera paths, guess it is on your 2do-list already? :) Title: Re: GIGANTIC HADRON COLLIDER Post by: Jesse on August 03, 2010, 08:50:07 PM And Jesse! Yes, without compromise, the result is worth it! I love the program, got one wish on DA about smoother camera paths, guess it is on your 2do-list already? :) By now you can change the parameter smoothing from 0 (linear-) to 5 (bezier-interpolation), this is the number in the left lower corner beneith the keyframes. The speed is only controllable with the subframe count between the keyframes. But i liked it anyways, especially the part where you fall down the pathway on that building :) Another interpolation method is also on the todo list, but i really cant say anymore what i can realize, i first want to get to the point where all parts are working... OK, so THAT is what parameter smoothing is... Guess I have to read the manual O0 Thank you Jesse! Title: Re: GIGANTIC HADRON COLLIDER Post by: bib on August 17, 2010, 04:27:14 PM OK, some additional comments from my side :
What I like the most : - the slight but yet noticeable tranformation at the beginning. - The fact that you took the time to add a title and some comments at the end - The variation of FOV (not sure?) or at least the resulting effect of high FOV - The camera passing close to the object surface (you know I like that :) ) - The colors (although I think you kept close to one of the default) - The Hi-res ! I do not mean to criticize at all, because this is really a great video, but if you ask me what I think could have been better : - sometimes too steep changes of camera path - The feeling of sometimes being lost ("where is the top where is the bottom" effect) because of too many rotations - Too quick camera movement, especially in the second part (and I guess you gave the video name roller coaster once you realized it was too quick?) - The ending could have been slowed down (consequence of the previous point) BTW, I did not read the user guide either. Did not even know there was one! Cheers bib Title: Re: GIGANTIC HADRON COLLIDER Post by: KRAFTWERK on August 17, 2010, 04:36:55 PM I appreciate your critique bib.
You noticed the parameter-shift @ the start ;) No variation in FOV if i remember correctly, even if I had an idea of using it. The passing through was on your request... ;) Close to default colouring, right! I take in your "negatives" and divide them by zero O0 No, I'll keep them in mind for the next animation! Turned off the speakers, just for in case this ride was going trough the sound-barrier. It has a roller-coaster effect indeed and that`s cool in a way but some how I missed loads of detail. A lazy Sunday afternoon tourist version can be ea-silly made with some chewing gum. |
