Title: Hello everyone
Post by: SimonKane on July 15, 2010, 06:03:35 PM
Hi everyone.

I joined up a couple of days ago and wanted to introduce myself. I've been making fractals since the late eighties, but dried up three years or so ago and hadn't done anything until I started seeing Mandelbulb- and Mandelbox-based images appearing over at Renderosity recently, and a bit of web-searching led me here.

I'm massively impressed by the great stuff you guys have done recently with 3D fractals! The vast majority of my stuff is 2D ultrafractal and I'd got a bit bored with it all, but seeing your advances has given me the bug again and now I'm trying to get to grips with 3D techniques, so thank you all (in particular, Dave Makin, whose UF formulae are giving me a great deal of fun).

If you want to have a look at my images, including the recent Mandelbulb and Mandelbox ones, they're over in my Renderosity gallery (http://www.renderosity.com/mod/gallery/browse.php?user_id=106431 (http://www.renderosity.com/mod/gallery/browse.php?user_id=106431)). Suggestions and criticism are always welcome.

Best wishes,
Simon.

Hello and Welcome!

I need to get more active over at Renderosity...  I'm quite active at their "sister" site (The Daz 3D Forums)  (I use Carrara and Bryce a lot, and that's the home of those programs).

Glad to see you here.  Feel free to post some of your work in our gallery, or in the forum itself   O0

    Hi everyone.

Greetings, and Welcome to this particular Forum !!!    :)

If you really are interested in 3-D fractal graphics, you might be interested in some of the other applications available that produce real 3-D objects, and not just 2-D images using some 3-D techniques.  They are mentioned all throughout this Forum.
