Title: Creativity Post by: hobold on July 15, 2010, 03:28:04 PM I came across a news report on scientific research on human creativity. The findings are nicely backing up old humanist ideals:

1) no longer encouraged along with being educated. Country is split between those who believe in being "progressive" vs those who think that they are just fine with ignorance is bliss, denial of scientific facts. 2)Many just "pay" to be entertained. Yrs ago creativity came out of nesseccity. Imagination was needed. Now everyone chooses to be entertained by the few who do create things. Excellent post glad I noticed it! Yes but is it? Sadly I bhave found that over the last generations it has declined. BTW didn't mandelbrot work for IBM? Sorry to have rained on your parde but that's what i'm seeing. Title: Re: Creativity Post by: The Rev on September 27, 2010, 09:50:17 PM Creativity is pretty hard to define. Case in point: 90% of the population believes they are in the top 10% of the population with respect to creativity. I think a good indicator of true creativity is the ability to surprise people. It shows you are thinking outside their general collective box. And those who really do that the best are stand up comics, and other people with well-developed senses of humor. My 2¢.
