Weird. Why steal images from others to show them in the same site ? As you post a new pic, it is automatically showed with last deviations... and using pics from active members, it's suicide...

None of mine. for now.

Has anyone reported this to the Chief Deviant yet?

I should write the Deviant Art Admins complain that he didn't steal any images of mine!

For some reason I see this more with fractals than any other art form... do people think fractals are just less distinctive somehow? There's not even any effort to hide it.

i had problems with "stolen" images, when i was printing the first set of cups in 2008 and uploaded user images for printing, and they removed the images right after i ordered
a print, and just notified me of i am using copyrighted material, i dont know how they found me but their system is clearly not working on that person, i think a note
to deviantart should be ok, to remove those images

Fractal art is at the beginning of categories list, stolen images is not the only one problem. Everydays there's a bunch of various and non fractal stuff, from children-like drawings to porn pics (recently even a naked kid, how shocking). Don't know if it's just about joking or misunderstanding about what they can or can't post here, but there's a lack with filters and moderation...

He did the same thing a while ago when the Mandelbulb first appeared, I sent him a note asking him to stop and he did - he started adding other's images as favourites instead.
I suspect that the images he's put in his own gallery are ones that he couldn't favourite at DA because the source was elsewhere - I realise that doesn't excuse his behaviour - I think he's just excessively keen on promoting fractals generally.

Well, then he should at least
- ask for permision
- mention, it's not his work
- link to the work inside the gallery
- and maybe also link to the various galleries of all the members here, who also have a deviant art account.

That's basically what I "suggested" :)
It seems he's back to ignoring such things.

They have been reported on at least four times, maybe more by now.  But it all depends on:
  •  Whom reads the "reports".
  •  Whether or not they choose to react.
  •  How DeviantArt wishes to handle the situation, and how fast.

Ever read their "rules" for reporting copyright material, and meeting their standards for DMCA reporting??  They like to have it sent to them by snail mail.

Probably just some 9-year-old, not knowing better...

After some thought, I came to that conclusion too - that it's just some little kiddie
who's 'playing' on dA.
Annoying, but not really worth bothering about - I shouldn't imagine he's actively
trying to sell prints.

You are right... but he has changed strategy. This image was rendered by hgjf but directly from one of default settings files which I provide with Mandelbulber ("menger sponge 3.fract"). He didn't changed anything. There was no hgjf's invention.

Yep, btw is he the same who made the wikipedia mandbox article and used my default setting and claimed that he made the entire work
by himself  :dink:

But hgjf has again many more stolen images on his side, from many different people, not me... :hmh: Should i be glad or not  :)

this kind of plagiarism disgusts me, and its why i will keep many of my best renders to my self, and im sure many others do this also.
