your last 5 small images 640x480 produced a server load of more than 5 MB ... horrible, simply horrible, horrible horrible horrible ... i havent found
the function in the gallery to disable bmp uploads ... but bmp is a file format never meant to be used for publishing on
the internet

Blimey!

You're right.

I always used the "Multimedia Gallery" in other forums, and that allows setting what formats are allowed as well as file sizes.

I guess we'll have to just change the bmp format to a Rule instead of a Suggestion - or switch to another gallery which allows such control and keep this one as an archive - but lock it  (from uploads - comments and ratings can still be allowed!).

It may be a good idea to visit the smf forum, find the Gallery Thread, and post the suggestion to restrict formats, otherwise we may get others trying to post Targa, PSD, TIFF, and even RPF image files.  All of which can be even larger than BMP files  O0
