Title: Just to say hello Post by: damith on June 08, 2010, 06:10:18 AM Hi all,
I'm from Sri Lanka and did modeling natural trees as a project for my graduation. Very much interested in natural fractals and fractal in finance, well I don't know much about fractal finance but studying on that Cheers Title: Re: Just to say hello Post by: Sockratease on June 08, 2010, 09:46:10 AM Hello and Welcome to the forums!
Trees are finding new expressions as of late. Here's an interesting one: http://www.fractalforums.com/index.php?action=gallery;sa=view;id=2532 I look forward to seeing what you come up with... Very much interested in natural fractals and fractal in finance, well I don't know much about fractal finance but studying on that Greetings, and Welcome to this particular Forum !!! :) FractalForums has several areas that may be of interest, especially under the category of "Real World Examples & Fractical Applications", where some of the boards are: • Fractals in Nature (http://www.fractalforums.com/index.php?board=19.0) • Stock Market Prediction (http://www.fractalforums.com/index.php?board=72.0) As to "fractal in finance", there are many resources throughout the Internet, along with several published books and articles. A quick Google search using the keywords: mandelbrot fractal finance will turn up some interesting reading, including some PDF documents you can download. When it comes to modeling fractals that look like something within Nature, the applications capable of handling L-Systems and Iterated Function Systems (IFS) would be your best approach. |
