Title: Nature in Fractals - The Cactus
Post by: KRAFTWERK on May 31, 2010, 11:24:57 AM

I found this in a mix of a power 2 and power 8 mandelbulb, Daniels original -sin version:

I was quite amazed myself when I found it.
With the right combination of mandelbulb formulas you might be able to find all shapes imaginable?  O0

I'm sure there are many surprising shapes still to be found in Fractal Land!

I tried Cactuses before, in Chaoscope.

Can't find the cactus by itself (did it a few years ago), but here it is with a couple dragons.

...

And Lissa.  :dink:

You just know I can't resist making images like that...

What??

Talk un-ambiguously and without sarcasm??

Oh...  OK.

Just once.

We met online and I helped out with her ...  "Modeling" website while it was active.  Health issues (The ones I talked about in my "I'm Back Again" thread) caused the site to retire, despite an attempt at a relaunch recently.  Over the years we just got really close, and now are planning to move in together as soon as I can fix up and sell this junk house I'm burdened with  (She can't leave her area due to family issues).

Whoa, that's not only a cactus, it's also a Venus flytrap at the same time :D
Really nice :)
Which combination was that?

Yes, someone mentioned a meat-eating plant here too...

The text was a bit hidden just above the image, will make it clearer!  O0

Yeah, I read that text already, sorry if I wasn't clear on my part^^
I meant, which exact combination of the two? :)
Because the Elitical idea I had certainly does not produce this ;)
Is it radius based or iteration based or...
there are millions of ways to combine the two :)

Nope BWA, I talked to Kraftwerk :)

OK, Kram!

I will get back to you on this one, I have been beta testing some new features in subblues pixelbenderscript, so he is the one to ask about the method of the mixing.

When the new version is out, I can give you the parameters!

J

I actually found the image of the Chaoscope Cactus without Lissa in it!

I think it's prettier with Lissa (and the Dragons), but some people like fractals without her.   (http://www.fractalforums.com/Smileys/default/rolleyes.gif)

It's a bit "Dusty" - but I couldn't find settings to reduce that without hurting other parts of the image more than I liked.
