Title: Other Art Forms
Post by: Bent-Winged Angel on May 21, 2010, 08:01:37 PM
Just pondering other art forms that memebrs may have explored during their lives.  For example While very young I got into tailoring & designing of clothes, pottery, displayed in  my home.  Jewelry making including sawing metal, handpainting pieces. Not soo good at soldering.  :sad1:  Or have you always stayed with fractals?

for my full time job I am a session stylist so I regularly pump out art like this on a regular basis....

all the models own hair I might add. This only took me about 5 hours to do, nothing when compared to the amount of time I spend on fractals...

I used to do a lot of Stop Motion Animation with a full sized VHS Camcorder.

Tedious, and tough to get consistent frames, but...  at least I used Stuffed Animals as my cast!!  (all Cows, of course).  These are all bordering on 30 years ago, so tolerate the amateurish nature of it all...

And The Big One!

That is a weirdness - I have no idea what happened to the audio.  It had dialogue and stuff, but only pieces of the audio survived the digitization  (and the beep at the end was a Belch!).

And the watermark is because I was using a trial version of the capture software.

And yes, the credits were made on a Tandy 1,000 Home Computer and I pointed the video camera at the monitor.

My how times have changed!

Just be glad I spared you the one where two Cows had a Pro-Wrestling Match!  That one may break your brains if I posted it...

Its never too late to educate yourself no matter what you pursue i guess. I have always loved maths but i never knew why - and then I found fractals and it answered a lot for me in my head. god that sounds crazy when i read it back but its true :)
kudos to the hair also, this is also a passion of mine has been for what seems all my life and i still find myself playing with hair for hours and hours at a time so i can express my self creatively...

My first PC was actually from Texas Instruments.  Back in the day when an 8 MB Hard Drive was a Big Deal!

But...  you dislike Stuffed Cows???

Blasphemy!

30 Crates??  Wow.

I have quite the Herd over here to this day.

And Teamfresh:  Nice Hair!  As a Hippy of The Old School, I certainly enjoy Hair Play. Here's mine from before the radiation treatment for those menginomas in my brain (yeah, I know - explains a LOT, doesn't it?)

Girl you thought he was a man
But he was a muffin
He hung around till you found
That he didn't know nuthin'

Girl you thought he was a man
But he only was a-puffin'
No cries is heard in the night
As a result of him stuffin'

Bruce Fowler on trombone, Napoleon Murphy Brock on tenor sax, and lead vocals, Terry Bozzio on drums, Tom Fowler on bass, Denny Walley on slide, George Duke on keyboards, Captain Beefheart on vocals, and soprano sax, and madness. Well, I study music. I play several instruments such as glarinet, guitar and piano and I sing. My love for progressive metal and rock means I listen to a lot of complex music, although not very fractal. :)

What I must love about the Norwegian school system is that from you're 16 and start in high school you can choose between several programs, such as music and sports and still learn all the stuff needed for higher education. Hooray!

That sounds great!  In the US the eduational system has gone downhill.  :sad1: :'(

Actually coudn't any skill be taken to the level of an "art form?"

I have been involved with so many things over the past decades that it would take way too much time to list them all here.  Fractals have only been a small percentage of those interests.
