It's a perfect fit, considering, they can blow up a 5*10px section of a horrible camera shot to crisp and perfectly lit full HD - at LEAST.
Wow, if that'd work.... xD

Do you talk about that specific sequence or about the actual soap?
In the soap, they blow up pics to a nearly infinite resolution.
Fractal scaling works pretty well in a lot of situations but there's no way, you get anything reasonable beyond the pixel scale...
And 16*9 -> 1980*1050 surely wouldn't work either. but that's about what they do in that series...
