Title: new animation website. Post by: teamfresh on March 07, 2010, 12:04:21 AM Hi all, as you know I love fractals and I like to help out other fractal animators where I can. :D
To this end I have invested in and created a new website that is video based and focuses on animations. it is.... http://www.best-animations.co.cc all animations on the home page are randomly picked each time the home page is loaded giving all animators a fair chance of having their work seen! Although it is not purely fractal based website, there is a fractal category - and I just wanted to say to you all that if you have any animations - that you are particularly proud of - then leave a comment here with a link to the animation and I will add it to the website. I will always include the description that is on the video page - but if there is any extra info/links that you would like me to include with the description please include that in the post you leave here Oh and there is a featured category on the sidebar of the website - its FRACTALS of course :evil1: There are a couple of rules 1) the animation must be embeddable - youtube - vimeo -daily motion etc etc. (I am not hosting the video files myself to save bandwidth) 2) no more than 5 animations from anyone (for now) I don't know what kind of response I will get from you guys over this but I don't want you to be wasting your time listing loads of links for me as I don't want to flood the website with to many fractals at once. This will only be making it harder for the other non - fractal animations to be seen. (If there is a huge response rest assured I will lift this limit in the future when there is enough non fractal content to balance things out) 3)it DOES NOT have to be HD but it must be high quality work that you are very proud of - the website is called best animations after all! that's it for now - of course you are also welcome to suggest any other non fractal animations that you feel deserve a spot in this brand new hall of animating fame! (and if I do put them in they will not count towards your 5 fractal animations) oceans of love teamfresh Title: Re: new animation website. Post by: teamfresh on March 07, 2010, 03:13:08 AM cool, as long as they are the ones you are most proud of, that's good enough for me - I have added them :D

So who determines what makes up the "high quality work" that "it must be" ?? Will all suggested links be added to your new site, just as long as the creator is "proud of" their animation ?? Is there no criteria as to what makes something "best" ?? Title: Re: new animation website. I would like to think that the creator would know what is his best work, but I would be interested to hear what criteria you think there should be to have the animation included on the site... It is not my site to set the criteria for, but yours. I was only attempting to see if there was any criteria at all. Apparently there is really none, since anybody could claim their particular video was the "best" and/or that they were "proud of" it. The first animation that a beginner would make is their "best" at that time, seeing how there is no other. And they may even be "proud of" their first attempt. In that case, it would qualify for your web site. Good Luck !!! Title: Re: new animation website. I guess its hard to name a criteria that would counter act this as it is possible that someone who has been animating for years may still produce work that is of a beginners standard - I guess in the end I am the judge! :police: Title: Re: new animation website.
