What is new in Version 1.2:

- Image downscaling, image saving as JPEG, antialiasing filter when saving
  downscaled images.
- Saving and loading parameter as text to and from clipboard.
- Julia mode
- All integer powers from 2 to 8 are coded faster.
- 'Bulbox' hybrid formula.
- 3 presets to choose from, influencing the accuracy, image width and scale.
- The DEstop value can be choosen freely.
- Up to 4 lights with color option, saving and loading with preset buttons.
- Little histograms between the object-color sliders.
- Bug fixed that prevented the calculation of higher zoomings, now zoom factors
  of up to 1e13 should be possible.
- Throwing parameter or M3I files to the opened program will load them.

aehmm, its the 'supercube'... not good?  Can rename it to 'Mandelbox' in version 1.3, but that sounds so common  ::)

This is a Wonderful program!

I've been choking Chaos Pro for a few days now, trying to get fun Mandelbulb renders.  And the Mandelbox formulas not only choke poor old Chaos Pro, they crash it on my system.

Mandelbulb3D is much better!

Here's the very first image I got from your program (it's a little off center, but I was just playing and learning the program - not making an effort at Fine Art!):

HEY!!

Mandelbulb3D is *The Very First* Windows Fractal Generator I ever tried to run on my MAC (using "Crossover") that ACTUALLY WORKS!

I have a Windows system for my desktop work, but my laptop is a Mac.  I got Crossover for my employment, but I was secretly hoping to run things like Chaoscope and Mutatorkammer in my "spare time", but neither one ever worked (I'm a "Quality Control Chemist" at a Chemical Manufacturing Company, and as such I often have to just sit around waiting for samples - Sometimes for hours - Perfect Time to Play on my Laptop!). 

I have no idea what you did differently in compiling this compared to those other programs, but Mandelbulb3D runs perfectly on the Mac!!

I was sad that Crossover only worked for employment related stuff like Microsoft Office software and none of my toys would run.

Now I have another nice Fractal Generator that works on my Mac!!  Up until now all I had was Duncan's Fractalworks and a Java based one which I never got the hang of (not counting trial versions of paid software which I can't buy due to medical expenses keeping me broke).

So now I'm Doubly Grateful to you for sharing this Marvelous little program!

Ha ha, that's a great little guy - good work  ;D ;D ;D

So thank you, i dont know what i made different to other programs. Maybe i do only the basic programmings, that emulators can handle...
(but i also had problems with some win programs even on windows, and less problems that were written on linux and transferred to win like Buddhi's great program.)

I think I have a clue why Mandelbulb3D works on the Mac using "Crossover"

There are NO Absolute File Paths!!

So it's basically a "Portable App" which could be run from a usb stick on any Windows computer. 

I know the file paths would not match up on my Mac if it tried to dictate anything from where it gets resources to where it saves stuff.  Since only relative file paths are used, and all the stuff it needs is in the same folder as the executable, there is "Less to Go Wrong" and surely that does not hurt the cause.

I'm long removed from my programming days (when I learned to program, I was punching cards!!) and never wrote a single thing for Windows (or Mac), so take my ideas with a Pillar of Salt...

I am using Delphi, i think Ultrafractal is also programmed with it?
For windows you can also try Lazarus, what is very similar to Delphi and even supports porting to linux for example.

The program tries to get the local appdata folder of the user, and when it gets no result, it takes the programs folder.

So from your words i think the last option was used, and also a bit lucky that no errors were triggered by the request.

That's alright, I believe most of us understood your reference and why you made it.  (At least it was obvious to me.)

There are several available for download.  The question is, what platform are you wanting to program for??

Just made an update because the (simple) animation function had become bugs in the previous version:

What is new in Version 1.2.2:

- Bug fixes in the animation mode.
- New hybrid type of formula.
- Speed improvements, especially for the "Amazing Box" (was: "Super Cubes")
  with SSE2 (if available on computer).
