Title: MB3D is Bit-Crushing the mesh output Post by: Mrz00m on November 04, 2017, 02:01:34 PM Hi all, With regards to very HDef fractal mesh, At the moment MB3D computes very precise value for every 3D voxel of image stack, 16 bit from the fractal equation, then it crushes that heavy maths work to only B.W. for the Image Stack. I have 100000 times less numbers to work with to reconstruct super good mesh from the image stack, I spent 1-2 months figuring it out, I can then run marching cubes on the stack and other easy algo's and upload the free binaries to this forum. Rather than bitcrush the images into black and white, i'd suggest to process every sample as: (original 16 bit figures)/2+0.5 to have an image stack where everything lower and higher than +2/-2 becomes black/white and the boundary detect is recorded is medium grey at 0.5. It would thus be pretty precise. cheers!!! |
