Title: 3D Mandelbrot starfish Post by: Duncan C on February 26, 2010, 02:03:01 PM (http://www.pbase.com/image/122301241/original.jpg) (http://www.pbase.com/image/122301241/original)
This is a 3D Mandelbrot set rendered in FractalWorks. I got the coordinates from Ingvar Kullberg, in his "Chaotic series of fractal articles." This is his "SeahorseBarrier3" Regards, Duncan C Title: Re: 3D Mandelbrot starfish Post by: FractalMonster on February 27, 2010, 12:19:42 PM This is pretty nice :)
Thanks Duncan for drawing it :) Sorry I'have not been here that very much :( BTW, Stig Petterson has new wonderful formulas, Hexic an Heptic parameter spaces. All his formulas, as well as mine are included in the zip, http://klippan.seths.se/fractals/articles/modules.zip Recarding Hexics an Heptics, see my journals, http://fractalmonster.deviantart.com/journal/27934045/ and http://fractalmonster.deviantart.com/journal/28109990/ Some mysteries in Heptics are described in http://fractalmonster.deviantart.com/journal/29658408/ http://fractalmonster.deviantart.com/journal/29729231/ http://fractalmonster.deviantart.com/journal/29836311/ Take care everyone and keep up the good work :) /Ingvar Title: Re: 3D Mandelbrot starfish Post by: kram1032 on February 27, 2010, 06:49:27 PM nice :D
I always like those shapes :) Title: Re: 3D Mandelbrot starfish Post by: Timeroot on February 27, 2010, 08:44:04 PM @Duncan C: Cool image! I love it! @Fractal Monster: Those hexic and heptic formulas sound fascinating. Have you considered also slicing through the Julibrot versions of these polynomials? That is, using the initial value of z as another complex parameter and slicing through it as well? I would be curious what it would look like.. :) |
