Title: Abox cuboid MinR2 frag
Post by: mclarekin on July 29, 2017, 10:15:02 AM
Inspired by CozyG http://www.fractalforums.com/amazing-box-amazing-surf-and-variations/generalized-shape-inversion-applied-to-the-mandelbox/msg102850/#new (http://www.fractalforums.com/amazing-box-amazing-surf-and-variations/generalized-shape-inversion-applied-to-the-mandelbox/msg102850/#new)

This simple frag has a cuboid shape replacing the standard MinR2 sphere shape limit.   There are three parameters to set the cuboid size.

This version has the cuboid symmetric about each axis.

There is checkBox option to test the minR2 limits against   z  (fastest)  or   z^2 ( the correct maths.??).

The code is not optimized and there could be a faster way of doing this  (Darkbeam ??)

I have found that the more complicated modifications need a lot of coding to avoid creating cuts.

Thank you so very much for sharing, mclarekin!     Lots of fun and I have only just begun exploring its possibilities  :dink:

here is an updated version, (the closest thing to proper fragmentarium coding I have ever done, i keep on learning)

I would be interested to know if this frag occasionally crashes ( it does for me on win10, with a not up to date version of fragmentarium)

cheers

@mclarekin Tested your formula and did horrible! things to it on Win7x64pro. Absolutely Stable! And also very fast, so can't be a time-out-problem at your end, it would seem.

@ Sabine thanks for testing  :). As it was random it may still happen though.

I am going to recode the MandelbulberV2 version to be the same as that frag and test it out.
