Title: CO2 greening of earth - map
Post by: Alef on July 13, 2017, 02:34:47 PM
Not shure if it's in right subforums. In one scientific site I had found very interesting visualiastion of Earth.
The topic is alsou important and less known.

Satelite pictures shows that in past 30 years most of areas of earth had become significantly greener exept the areas of heavy cutting of woods. 46% of earth the total leaf area had increased, in 4%  - decreased.

Test shows that by 70% this greening is becouse of increased CO2. 8% - increase of temperature and spread of vegetation in more cold areas. 9% - spread of nitrogen fertilisers outside of gardens. 13%  - planting of forests (mostly in USA and China.)
CO2 is one of the strongest fertiliser. Moresou, on "inhaling" CO2 plants alsou loses water so with more CO2 less water is needed.

But then this greening of world alsou itself changes the weather. In cold and temperate areas more green leaves increases the temperature becouse more green mass absorbs more sunlight. In Central Europe it adds up to 10% to warming.
But in hot dry areas sutch as Australia it's opposite, increased leaf mass cools temperature down, becouse of increased evaporation. So now the total temperature balance is around zero and this makes climate more mild.

Well, Trump would like to hear this.
But on reaching certain amounts of CO2 humans will have constant headache;) And more hot weather would alsou means more evaporation of water from oceans so more rainstorms and maybe monsoons in Europe.

The article probably could be accesed by
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sci-Hub (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sci-Hub)
But that site calls themself first scientic piratic site.

wow! it's a good thing I never heard of this site and that you didn't link directly. I whish I never had heard of that before.. I would have to thank the one introducing me to it..  :-*

what would happen to the world if all that awesome knowledge really was to be set free.. we might all die instantly!!!  :o ;D

also on topic: what a surprising development! But I always wondered, if something like this would happen if co2 levels rise. I was aquascaping for a few years (aquarium with focus on plants) and the one thing to increas growth was adding co2 to the water.. so it seems logical.. thx for the info

:)
Direct link to piratic site could be unethical. But now you can just download all scientic articles about fra... I condem piracy  :police:
