Title: v2.12 alpha crash on load and output v flip Post by: joe on June 03, 2017, 09:23:19 AM What a tease... rendered a few images with jaw dropping speed, laughed at the screen a bit, realised the shape generated is different to the CPU version.
Photoshopping the two images together to upload and realised the openCL version is just vertically flipped. Seems like it's only the output because move by mouse works as if the image was the right way up. Meanwhile I'm having issues loading the program after closing it. PID: 2916, time: 0.314, Debug: platform # 0 : "NVIDIA CUDA" "NVIDIA Corporation" "OpenCL 1.2 CUDA 8.0.0" "FULL_PROFILE" log's last line on program load and crash. Then I load v2.11 from my start menu, error unknown parameter: gpu_platform, then error in settings file. Line 12(gpu_platform true_). Then it continues loading as normal. Close 2.11 and now I can load v2.12 alpha no problems! This happens even if I disable GPU before exiting program. I am getting sub-second render times for 2xAA HD frames <3 Title: Re: v2.12 alpha crash on load and output v flip Post by: Buddhi on June 03, 2017, 09:37:45 AM Thank you for the feedback. v2.12 alpha is very early stage of implementation of OpenCL. It was released only just to get first feedback about potential problems with hardware resource allocation. Rendering code is only very basic, just to see if anything works.
I'm more surprised about that something works than something doesn't work :D Quote Then I load v2.11 from my start menu, error unknown parameter: gpu_platform, then error in settings file. Line 12(gpu_platform true_). Then it continues loading as normal. Close 2.11 and now I can load v2.12 alpha no problems! This happens even if I disable GPU before exiting program. This problem I have fixed yesterday. In next alpha version will work better. Title: Re: v2.12 alpha crash on load and output v flip Post by: joe on June 03, 2017, 11:18:04 AM Image flip has fixed itself :-) EDIT - probably fractal rotation was enabled, which does not function yet with openCL. I was importing settings from the old version, noticed DE function not set to preferred, now renders 6x faster again. I am just sitting here with auto-refresh enabled, jamming scroll wheel over parameters, laughing. |
