Title: D3CRYPT3D . SXSW winner for Interactive Innovation in Sec.and Privacy
Post by: D3CRYPT3D on March 22, 2017, 02:42:52 AM
This is the most hardcore trolling ass forum when it comes to anything CG. But I still feel I should put this up here cause some reason or another we like getting our teeth kicked in by you guys. Long story short our D3CRYPT3D program 2.0 just won SXSW for privacy and in Securities.  Can't believe we won, Im sure neither can you guys, but I think you guys might dig what we are trying to do.

3D IP is a serious thing and we are trying to put in place some metrics so that in the future it can stand in a court of law. Not only that you will have some control over your creations when collaborating with others. We have been able to track assets as well. Being a 3d artist, its fluffing hard! So just couldn't let that work be reduced to a copy and paste function. Doing our best. Hopefully you guys try it out. If not all good.  The new beta drops 04.01.2017, and we are making it free. We are super stoked on this side. Been at it for a year!

1. Bit of a self fulfilling prophecy to come to a forum complaining about trolling (i.e. trolling about trolling), no?

2. It seems you still don't get that we 99% don't deal in traditional / mesh-based assets here. Trying to apply IP law to what is essentially equations leads to the ridiculous supershape situation:

3. As someone developing a commercial 3D rendering engine I still have my doubts about the value and place of such tech, it's not like protecting data / IP is a new thing. It seems overly specific, standard infosec practices are good enough in real industry.

4. Please don't mistake my skepticism for trolling, not everyone who doesn't immediately jump and love it is a troll. If your tech is good it will succeed regardless of whatever any particular person on any particular forum thinks; time will tell :)

5. Gratz! Seems like great exposure.

 :hurt:Well, congratulations...

One thing though. You decided to advertise your product here, by doing so you accepted the fact that people could give you feedback (either positive or negative) on it. If you decide to do anything with it is, again, your choice. If you think our feedback is formulated incorrectly or our opinions are somehow incorrect, let us know, but do it constructively like we are doing instead of calling us trolls if our opinions differ from yours.

That said, great that the product got an award. It also nice that there is going to be a free beta, that way people could try it out before giving feedback on it.

Lol Sorry for that the sour note on that post. For some reason or another I have had some rough interactions with people on this site. Truth be told, we have the utmost respect for people that participate in 3d. I had mentally prepared myself for troll fest 3000 and a shot of whiskey for good measure. I'll make sure I'll tone that gruffness down next time. But yes it is free and any feedback is great feedback.  ;D
