Title: Can someone explain Julia morphing?
Post by: greentexas on January 12, 2017, 03:34:35 AM
Can somebody explain Julia morphing? I've successfully morphed the same Julia twice or more, but I do not completely understand how to create various structures using Julia morphing. I do know that you do not zoom into the Mandelbrot, but rather the Julia.

I just happen to have written a journal on deviantart about how my evolution zoom method works:

If you don't do step 1 (as mentioned in the journal) it's basically the same as what's described on http://mathr.co.uk/, where Adam Majewski linked to.

Lovely to have you back in fractals! :)
I read your journal and it is an excellent explanation of the N-R method and its implications.

I've tried to form a shape by zooming in close but outside of it, which deforms it in a predictable way.
I made some animals. But it is kind of hard

to be honest, for someone new your termonology is really confusing
I understand your journal, but what has i got to do with Julia morphing? isn't it about Mandelbrot-shapes?
And what exactly are you morphing there?

You might need to dive into the mandelbrot set some more, not only the shape and formulas, but also the discussion around it. Perhaps this is a good lead:

thank you very much for sharing that :)
really helped me understanding more

Impressed with your zooms Dinkydau, inspiring.

I've had a break from it for a while but have just dipped my toes into it again.

I was lead to the idea from the description on muency/mrob.com, http://mrob.com/pub/muency/leavittjonathan.html
