I am pleased to announce the new page impression record for FractalForums.com
we have reached a total of over 500.000 page impressions for January 2010,
when calculating the bots out we have to divide it by 3, but nevertheless it is
comparable to previous milestones ... thank you all and keep on !

And we have also set a new record for the number of "New Posts" for a single month.  There are over 1,630 at the moment, and growing.  (Averaging an additional 30% more each month since November.)
 
Is this Forum bringing in any profit yet for you??    ;)   :D
 

since the november storm of new users i can not say about making money, but it is about ~15€ that is coming in
now, that is thrice (3x) the average amount of the last years. all in all i have to pay 30€ for hosting a month, but
this is definately going into the right direction :D

before the storm i had ~500 ad impressions a day, today we have ~3000 ad impressions

so, making money is something different :D

Heh, I just checked. 154 new members joined in Nov. 2009. So far, exactly 100 people have joined this month. And it's not even over.

...and don't ask how I know that, gotcha? :whistle2:

the spiegel article didnt gave that much impressions, it is more so that since the slashdot article
the forum has achieved an enormous amount of public attention, and it is now since the mandelbulb
is public, THE source for researching and discuss stuff about it.

all i can say is, i am so happy to maintain a forum with exactly this specific content, and that the
quality of the discussion is far over my head sometimes, but it is amazingly productive and enjoyable
to follow the threads, new images and experiments are done nearly every day !

so people, i do not know how much more attention i can handle, but i am enjoying it!

The problem with these recent Membership counts is that a quantity of them are bogus, strictly for advertising (or some other purpose).  Many of them originate from the East, such as China, Malaysia, etc...  A single IP address may be used to enter in 5, 6, 7 or more member entries over a 48-hour period.  I have counted up over 70 new members with duplicate IP addresses.

@nahee, i have entered the ip adresses you told me, and since today user accounts need to be activated by ME!

@Nahee: WOW. I actually did it manually by going to view=profile, and checking different profile #'s to see which month they joined. Now I feel like an awesome dude...  >:( Good job on the 500,000 impressions!

in fact it is possible that we even break the 600.000 mark this month!
