Title: First deep zoom Post by: Imagyx on December 08, 2016, 10:23:07 AM First deep zoom
(http://nocache-nocookies.digitalgott.com/gallery/19/5672_08_12_16_10_23_06.png) I just finished my first own deep zoom in my own Java program I recently made for infinite zooming. Not that far into the standard mandelbrot but at least deeper than with ordinary double precision possible :dink: Code: x,y, width, height: http://www.fractalforums.com/index.php?action=gallery;sa=view;id=19832 Title: Re: First deep zoom Post by: Iariak on December 08, 2016, 08:07:04 PM Is it just me or is the image a bit distorted? It might be just the coloring. It looks nice though :)
Title: Re: First deep zoom Post by: quaz0r on December 08, 2016, 11:16:38 PM yes it is squashed down a bit. time to review some code :)
i notice you list a width and a height value, id guess the issue is in that code. if instead you calculate a single value to use as the distance between two pixels, you would likely avoid such issues. Title: Re: First deep zoom Post by: Imagyx on December 09, 2016, 08:47:19 PM It was my intention to change width and height independently for the possibility to select a certain part of the mandelbrot and render it into a chosen format. Example given I want to print on standard fotopaper. I know some images get stretched but the beauty of fractals is, they don't get torn apart by stretching them ;D
The coloring is smooth maths as well using this formula, which i like a lot btw. http://www.iquilezles.org/www/articles/palettes/palettes.htm I hope I didn't misunderstand, I'm glad you replied and it wouldn't be the first time I made a programming mistake without noticing :angel1: Title: Re: First deep zoom Post by: quaz0r on December 09, 2016, 09:31:29 PM sure i mean you can do what you like of course :D i just wondered if you actually intended for it to be stretched, as opposed to simply creating an image with a certain aspect ratio. |
