MB3D is a 32 bit program.  It cannot use more than 4GB of memory for any operation.

You hit the limit and there is no way around it.

You may want to consider Mandelbulber, which is not only 64 Bit, but still in development.  MB3D Development is sort of stalled and not much hope of any updates in the foreseeable future.

I get it

I thought it was updated, I saw that they have released several versions than those of two years ago

I have to start studying mandelbulber, although two years ago I had not impressed

anyway thanks for yor help

annother possibility is the "big render" button in m3d. It slices your rendering into managable tiles. You only need to stitch them together afterwards.

I was going to suggest that, but thought I heard that Big Render didn't work well with depth of field calculations.  So when it was stated that DOF couldn't be calculated, I thought that was not a good idea.

I could be mistaken though!

Anybody know if it is true that tiles show errors with depth of field?

BigRenders cannot do DoF (it tells you so the moment you load parameters with DoF), nor any other Ambient Shadows than DEAO.

I have tested an ordinary render here with the same resolution and after it finished applied a DoF (2-pass) separately and it worked, incredibly slow but it worked...
Same configuration as Renmen (not that it matters much for mb3d ;) )
I cannot figure out why I should be able to render, and someone else shouldn't...

BigRenders cannot do DoF...

Oh, guess it is my phlegm. Didn't read that far. But I also wasn't fully aware of that. Thanks!
