Hi guys,
I'm new on the forum and very new with fractals and I need some help from the experts. Yesterday after I finished an image, I saved it as jpg, png and ZBUF to compare file sizes, as I'm aiming for large images. All of them were saved nicely and I was able to open them in Photoshop for extra retouch. But today, after finishing another image, the ZBUF file looks very weird, flat and in black and white as in the image attached.
Any suggestion?

Which  program is this? MB3D?
And what are you showing us? I presume 5~ is the original, 5A zbuf of original, 6~ is zbuf of another image? Then what is the original image of 6~? Without it I can't say much.

Correct, I'm using MB3D. The question is about why the image 5A and 6~, which I have saved as bmp are not visible as the jpg. Yesterday I saved another bmp file and looks perfect, as I send you in the attachment.

Your original question is about flatness in zbuf? What does that have to do with as which format you save your files? Changing the format does not alter the image, only it's quality.

You must specify yourself if your zbuf is bmp or png (below in save window: "Save as type"), and for your image you can choose jpg (button), bmp or png (button plus below in save window: "Save as type").

If you save as bmp, it is bmp and can never show as jpg. If you have two files with the same name and different formats (.bmp, .jpg, .png), you either saved the image one time as bmp and a second time as jpg, or you copied the bmp and then changed the name of the copy (.bmp to.jpg)  (which will give you an error about wrong filetype in a viewer or editor).
