Title: Gallery Restructuring
Post by: cKleinhuis on January 14, 2010, 12:02:03 PM
hello,

i would like to ask you what you would like for a new caterisation of the gallery, or a more extended,

right now there is the private user galleries, and not really a structured fractal art section, how
could i categorize it ?
fractal art
3d
2d
escape time
ifs

i do not really know what makes sense when you are in the gallery

If it must be broken down into several categories, then I would suggest only using a few general ones (no more than five or six).  Using specific types of fractals as categories opens the door to way too many, and where would the line be drawn on the quantity of categories.

The real question should be, do we need to have a bunch of categories??  And if so, why not keep it simple, like the main ones used in the last Contest??

i for myself would love a wiki style categorization, by tags, each tag for itself would make up a new category,
and images would appear in many categories, but this is not supported in the current gallery, and would make
a fast index table for keywords used in images neccessary ,)

but i think 2d,3d and general is really a good enough categorization ;)
