Title: Janet Parke's UF courses now available as E-books Post by: David Makin on January 12, 2010, 09:34:19 PM Hi all,
Message from Janet posted to the UF list: ************************************ Hi everyone! You may or may not be aware that I am no longer teaching the online Ultra Fractal courses at VAA, but I'm pleased to announce that I have made the complete course texts available as e-books. Each course is packaged as a separate stand-alone Windows program that will run in a browser-like interface on your computer. No other software or e-book reader is required. We're pretty quiet around here and I think many of us have grown a tad older since we made our last fractal (me included)! If anyone is looking for a way to jump start your creativity, you might consider working through the lessons and assignments on your own. You can read more about the courses here: http://www.infinite-art.com/index.about.courses.php and purchase them here: http://www.infinite-art.com/index.purchase.php Please feel free to contact me with any questions! Is it worth it?

Is it worth it? Like anything that is available from the Internet for downloading, if you wait awhile, eventually somebody will post it for everybody to freely access. A prime example is this copyrighted video: http://www.fractalforums.com/introduction-to-fractals/arthur-c-clarke-explains-fractals/ (http://www.fractalforums.com/introduction-to-fractals/arthur-c-clarke-explains-fractals/) Title: Re: Janet Parke's UF courses now available as E-books Post by: David Makin on January 15, 2010, 12:42:33 PM I am considering buying the last course Ultra Fractal Artistry. All I can say is that *everybody* who took Janet's courses gave glowing reports :) Title: Re: Janet Parke's UF courses now available as E-books Post by: lkmitch on January 15, 2010, 06:16:44 PM I am considering buying the last course Ultra Fractal Artistry. Is it worth it? If you're at all interested in improving your art, by all means buy it. I did and it helped me. I did and it helped me. When I read the above sentences, I thought Kerry was saying he had bought an E-Book. Just to clarify the above statement, Kerry did not purchase an E-Book, which this topic was started about. Apparently he was referring to the online course where he as a student got interactive assistance from the instructor. (See his comments on Orbit Trap (http://orbittrap.ca/?p=696#comments).) Thanks, Paul, for clarifying. Yes, I was speaking about the course. However, the materials were an integral part of the course and I believe that Janet's ebooks would be helpful for anyone looking to improve their fractal art. |
